As you get started, you’re sure to notice the good variety of monkey towers spread across four categories. While choosing a strong character from the list of all hero monkeys is a great start, there also a few different things you may be looking for in your towers. Finding the unique features of each tower gives you a list of the best towers in Bloon TD 6. Here are our picks.
Best Early Game Tower - Dart Monkey
Of all the tower monkeys in Bloons TD 6, you have the Dart Monkey from the very beginning. It is the most affordable tower and the cost as well as the power of the upgrades goes along with the increasing difficulty of the rounds. If you need a unit you can improve quickly that moves pretty fast, the Dart Monkey is a great start.

Best For Tracks With Roundabouts - Tack Shooter
There are a few maps that have pieces of the path that circle around a patch of open map. The best thing I’ve found to put in these open circle is the Tack Shooter. It attacks all the way around it instead of targeting one bloon at a time and can be upgraded to shoot even more tacks around it.
Best Slowing Tower - Glue Gunner
While the Ice Monkey can be upgraded to be quite powerful, I found the Glue Gunner to be more consistently helpful as long as you keep up with upgrading it as the rounds go on. The Ice Monkey makes some bloons immune to sharp damage which makes many of the more affordable units do less damage, if any. But the Glue Gunner doesn’t change the bloons ability to be popped and can even be upgraded to corrode enemies, including MOAB units. Alternatively, you can choose to make the glue stronger until it super slows MOAB units if you don’t go the corrosive path.
Best Full Map Control - Heli Pilot
Many towers are stuck to a specific position and can only shoot within a specific range. The Heli Pilot, a military tower, can actually go wherever you tap on the map. At any point in a round, you can change where the Heli Pilot focuses or even set it to pursuit mode if you choose that upgrade path. This makes it chase down the front-line bloons passively.
Best Speed - Super Monkey
When it comes to quick shots, nothing quite beats the starting power of the Super Monkey. It has a great initial range and has a steady stream of darts coming from it. This is a great tower to place toward the end of a map to catch any stragglers.

Best Against Camo - Ninja Monkey
With some matches, you may find yourself caught off-guard by an inability to hit camo bloons. A unit you don’t have to upgrade to see camo is the Ninja Monkey. This tower has a good amount of starting damage and can see camo right away. In addition to the benefit of a fairly inexpensive unit with immediate camo destruction, it can also be upgraded into a great unit against MOABs.
Best for Extra Help - Beast Handler
The Beast Handler is one of the coolest towers available in Bloon TD 6. The upgrades available include an air, land, and sea unit animal that comes in to help pop the bloons. The more upgraded they are, the stronger the animals are. You can place the beasts anywhere within the Beast Handlers range area and they act as a second attack from one tower. The exception to this being the bird option, these will fly throughout the map.
Best Water Tower - Monkey Sub
There are only a few water towers in Bloons TD 6 but the best water tower is definitely the Monkey Sub. It’s a fairly inexpensive upgrade to get camo bloon detection on a path that also provides nearby heroes with benefits. The other upgrade options highly improve its attack against all bloons making it a very powerful gun to have, so no matter which path you choose you’re getting a lot more power.
