Fan favorite Austin "Chumlee" Russell is one of the most notable cast members of Pawn Stars.

Though he is often the target of staff jokes, Chumlee has an impressive amount of expertise when it comes to appraising novelty items.

He is well-versed in vintage toys, pinball machines, and sports memorabilia. He reportedly earned $25,000 per episode on the show.

Chumlee took a job at the pawn shop when he was just 21 years old.

While he is often seen as the bumbling comic relief on the TV series, he has also shown his prowess as a businessman in his own right, launching a successful side business that sells custom T-shirts.

Chumlee also launched Chumlee's Candy on the Blvd in Las Vegas.

According to his Instagram page, Chumlee's Candy sells "nostalgic, novelty, and bulk candy, [and a] variety of sodas, along with unique keychains, coffee, and bobbleheads."

Updated, May 2024: On May 28th, MonstersAndCritics.com reported on a fan controversy involving Pawn Stars' Rick Harrison and Chumlee, the latter of whom was criticized by Harrison in a clip uploaded to YouTube.

The outlet noted that Chumlee hopes "to become a manager" of the business, pointing to an interaction between the pair and explaining:

"Based on how things look in a video shared by Pawn Stars on their YouTube channel, [Chumlee's desired promotion] probably won’t happen any time soon ...

" ... Chumlee is a fan favorite, but Rick trusts his son Corey more with the shop’s operations ... Recently, Rick called Chumlee’s interaction with a seller and a valuable coin she wanted to sell a 'joke,' and fans disliked it.

"In the video shared by Pawn Stars, a seller wanted to sell the King of Pontus coin of King Mithridates, and while Chumlee did exactly what Rick would have done, Rick still slammed him."

According to MonstersAndCritics.com, Rick doubled down on his criticism of Chumlee during a "one on one" confessional-style segment later in the clip, asserting that Chumlee was incapable of handling the sale:

"The real joke would be if I wasn’t here and Chumlee had to figure out this coin sale all by himself."

As of May 2024, Chumlee's net worth is estimated to be around $5 million.
