Field visit Thailand

Our contact person from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maartje, visited Down to Zero in Thailand last week. She visited all implementing partners in different areas. She was very enthousiast and inspired about the Alliance’ work so far.

Her three main observations are:

  • There are some good examples of Public Private Partnerships (PPPs). ACCOR and Google are actively engaged in the programme. Currently replication with Google Indonesia is also being discussed. Partners are also aware of new challenges, e.g. platforms like Airbnb, Uber etc. No answers yet but thinking about it.

  • In the visit all pathways were covered. AAT more with children/communities, FACE more with gov, ECPAT with private sector, together all elements are covered in programme. Good to see complementarity and holistic approach.

  • Alliance building within the country: There is coordination and collaboration with good use of each others expertise. It would be good to make your ambitions for collaboration explicit to each other. Partners can use each other’s strengths more and increase linkage with each other. This visit was a good opportunity to emphasis alliance collaboration and see new opportunities. Also the coming Outcome Harvesting meetings can strengthen collaboration.
